We all know that when we send our kids to school, it is only a matter of time before the cold and flu virus runs through our home. Dogs have a similar virus commonly referred to as Kennel Cough. As pet owners, we vaccinate our pets to avoid them catching viruses such as Kennel Cough (Bodetella). Just like the Influenza vaccine for humans, the Bordetella vaccine only protects our pets from a few of the 20+ strains of the virus. Kennel Cough is an airborne virus and can be contracted by simply walking your pet around the block in your very own neighborhood. There is certainly a higher risk of catching the virus when you go to dog parks or daycare.
We take every precaution that we can, at a Dog’s Best Friend. We have plenty of ventilation, water bowls and toys are cleaned and sanitized often. If we see a dog showing any sign of illness, they are isolated immediately and the owners are contacted to take them home. We ask that, if you notice your pet showing any signs of illness, you keep them home.

I just wanted to take this opportunity to tell you how GRATEFUL I am that you’ve taken over the business. It’s been nothing but positive.
I’m so glad I have a WONDERFUL place for Apollo to meet friends, play & exercise (and he really needs it since he lives to eat). Your staff is wonderful & all the improvements you’ve done to the facility has been amazing.
Thank you so much!
Dog’s Best Friend is proud to be the first doggy daycare in Clark County to offer K9 Turf!!! There are many benefits to the turf:
- Dogs stay significantly cleaner
- Dogs’ joints and pads enjoy the benefits of a soft, natural-feeling surface (especially nice for older or rehabilitating dogs).
- Green grass looks great and is a natural fit for dog play and elimination areas.
We are very happy with the outcome and the dogs seem to LOVE the new yard!!
The product and installation was done by Cascade Greens in Portland.
A Dog’s Best Friend is making some exciting changes so that your dog will get the most enrichment and enjoyment possible while they are visiting us! We have consulted with a local expert, Dana Malone, MBA, CPDT, Dog Trainer/Behavioralist and have incorporated her suggestions to our existing processes and play yards.
One of the changes that we are making is the creation of a new entrance into the newly divided play yards. This will enhance our ability to put your dog into a playgroup with dogs of similar personality, energy level and, more important, play style, in the safest most organized method possible.
When appropriate playgroups are created; shy dogs will blossom with confidence, dogs with poor social skills will learn how to interact appropriately, high energy dogs can run, splash and romp without being intimidating to others and everyone will have endless fun in a safest environment possible.
Additionally, we are remodeling our overnight accommodations to provide a variety of suite options and enhance the overnight experience for all of our guests.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me at 360-991-5716 or email@example.com.
Thank you for your continued support and patience while we create the best environment for your fur-kids.
